CEO & Principal Consultant
My philosophy is that everyone deserves a safe work environment where their contributions are valued and appreciated. When employees are engaged, businesses thrive.
Many studies have shown that engaged workforces are safer, more productive, and more profitable, but typical corporate communications strategies are often geared toward corporate employees. They frequently overlook the unique challenges faced by frontline employees who work out in the field, away from computers, and the specific risks they encounter daily.
It's often difficult for frontline employees to feel aligned with their companies when an overwhelming amount of information is presented while they're focused on their daily tasks. That's why you need a communications professional who understands the technical 'ins and outs' of your industry and can implement effective safety communication strategies to cut through the clutter, enabling your people to make sense of it all.
I collaborate with your team to develop and execute tailored, proactive communications and culture building that can help you become an employer or project of choice. With 28 years of experience in corporate communications, project management, public affairs, and media, my work spans across various industries, both in office and field environments.

The Comms at Work team earned the IABC Houston Bronze Quill Best of Division and an Award of Excellence in Communication Research for its Corporate Communications Audit conducted for a multinational client with over 70 sites in the pulp, paper, tissue, and woodlands industry.
In 2024, our client was finalizing a three-company merger. We were tasked with auditing the communication channels and processes of the three legacy companies to recommend best practices for the new organization moving forward. Our work involved a comprehensive evaluation that included data from an employee survey, focus groups, 1:1 leadership interviews, and analysis of existing content and channels, both in English and French.
The report effectively highlighted and validated many challenges that company leadership had sensed but couldn’t substantiate. The audit pinpointed cultural issues and confirmed that the company's investment decisions regarding new communications tools and platforms—specifically the single intranet with a mobile app—aligned with the desires of their employees, thus enhancing frontline employee engagement.
This audit not only addressed safety communication strategies but also paved the way for more projects with this client, including a communications strategic plan, intranet rollout, HR and IT change communications, a teambuilding workshop, and temporary staff augmentation.
